West Shore-Harrisburg Installs Officers

History was made on March 23rd, 2024 when the newly formed West Shore –  Harrisburg Elks Lodge 2257 installed their inaugural officer corps:
Exalted Ruler:  Tina B. Welch
Leading Knight:  David Berrios
Loyal Knight:  Greg Surak
Lecturing Knight:  Dr. Jack Kaufman
Chaplain:  Janet McGinley (former Harrisburg Lodge #12 Chaplain)
Secretary:  Starr Zynski
Treasurer:  Kevin Charleton, PER
Esquire:  Bill Tauriello
Inner Guard:  Deb Schelgel
Tiler:  Mark Zogby
Trustee Chairperson:  Bob MacKay
Trustee:  Bill Witter
Trustee:  John Hopkins
Trustee:  Bill Sauerwine
Trustee:  Jami Allen

The festive evening started with appetizers and mingling.  Almost 120 Elks members and guests graced our beautiful facility.   Visiting Elks ventured to Camp Hill from as far away as Maryland, but also included Chambersburg, York and Bridgeport.Magician and Lodge member Lee Germain entertained guests with some fun table magic while, local DJ legend, Big John played background music.Dinner followed with delicious fish, chicken and potatoes.  Special thanks to the Club Manager, Chef Joe and staff for providing scrumptious food and superior service.

Prior to the installation of the new officer corps, outgoing Exalted Ruler Rick Clotfelter presented several awards, recognizing members for their service in 2023-2024. These awards included:
• Officer of the Year – Deb Schlegel
• Rookie of the Year – Charles Gipe
• Elk of the Year – Lola Henry, Club Manager
• Citizen of the Year – Eva Marie Holland

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt speech from newly installed Exalted Ruler Tina B. Welch.  Welch started by thanking her husband Tom, whose patience and support were vital to her success as a Lodge Officer.  Her speech expressed gratitude throughout, for the support from the members, support from her team,  and support from the  Past Exalted Rulers.  And much like Charity, she commended kindly deeds unto the Officers and PERs,  then proceeded to start the party with her family cheer,  Zicke Zacke Hoi Hoi Hoi.
